Once the lights go up we'll go back to the usual
time of 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Tuesdays.
Note: The clubhouse
phone number has changed to (419) 499-2400. This
is a Milan exchange, so it's long distance for just
about everyone. The answering machine is also back
up and operating.
What's happening:
Black Powder Trap &
Skeet: We have re-started black powder
Trap & Skeet shooting on the 4th Saturday of
each month during the milder seasons. Shooting begins
at 1:00 pm. If there are any questions please call
the club house (419-499-2400) and leave a message.
Your call will be returned by one of the black powder
staffers as quickly as possible. Click here
for some photos.

Highpower:
And the results of the year's first Highpower match
are here.
We have started two more
rifle sweepstakes: The first is to raise
funds for ECCL, and we will draw for another Savage/Leupold
varmint rifle/scope combination just like the one
that was won by Keith Rodvold.
The second sweepstakes is for the Friends of the
NRA banquet that will be held at ECCL in September.
This drawing will be for an Olympic Arms AR-15 rifle.
There will be 200 tickets sold for each rifle.
The tickets for the Savage/Leupold combination are
$10 each.
The Olympic Arms AR-15 tickets are $10 each or
three for $20.
The Savage/Leupold will be drawn as soon as the
200 tickets are sold. The Olympic Arms AR-15 will
be drawn at the NRA banquet.
Tickets are available at Trap & Skeet or from
Tom Taylor or Neil Casper.
Basic Handgun:
We are off to a good start with a room-filling crowd
for the first event (it was a small room but it
was full), a nice mix of men and women (experienced
and not) warmed to each other and the conversations
became lively. Alec Pocs (pronounced Poach)
was able to field questions of every stripe, giving
explanations and demonstrations that were able to
clear-up misunderstandings and misinformation.
Every second Monday we hold these low-key, one-to-two
hour get-togethers, each focusing on one or two
elements of safe firearm handling. This is not for
certification but is an opportunity to gain confidence
and knowledge in a comfortable atmosphere over a
long term and geared to women and beginners (although
everyone is welcome).
If you have a firearm in your home, you should
know how to handle it with respect, not fear--you
may even discover that you enjoy it. With the evening
sun, well take to the firing ranges and youll
be surprised how difficult it is to fire a gun without
smiling.
There is a small donation ($2 for members, $3 for
non-members) but the coffee and the nosh are free.
One does not need to be a member to attend these
sessions.
