Youth Field Day
Youth Field Day - June 25, 2011
Last year, our very first Youth Field Day was such a success (with the kids AND the adult helpers) that we couldnt wait to start planning for this year. Saturday, June 25 is the day for our 2011 ECCL Youth Field Day. As last year, the program will go from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., which should be just about enough time to wear out the kids and the adults working with them. The kids will receive instruction in rifles, .22 caliber hand guns, and bows (ECCL will provide ALL equipment, to ensure safety standards and controls).
Kids from age 7 to age 12 are welcome but must be members of ECCL OR be related to (or sponsored by) an ECCL member (the adult member must volunteer his/her time if their child is signed-up -the sponsoring adult will NOT be assigned to his/her own child). Pre-registration is absolutely required and no "walk-ins" will be accepted.
The day will cost $20 per participant (due upon registration) and will provide ear & eye protection, a t-shirt, lunch and prizes. The groups will be divided by age so no one needs to worry about being "out of their league".
We are looking for volunteers to help with the operation of the shooting stages, cooking and clean-up. Those who helped last year showed definite signs of exhilaration and excitement (not to mention, exhaustion!!!) and all said they were glad to have been involved. We would also appreciate donations from "prize sponsors" for youth prizes and "program sponsors" ($50 or more) to help with expenses-Sponsors will have their name or logo printed on each t-shirt (contact Dick Schuster - 419-656-4949).
Last years kids had a great time and the ECCL did a great thing
by putting on this day. We are going to need a lot of help but think
of the great opportunity for our adult members to connect with our junior
members and re-connect with the purpose of our organization: Education
and appreciation of outdoors sports for our members and
our community.
Help us to make this year even better... sign-up your kids and yourselves
for a terrific time and valuable learning experience.
