22 Warm Up Match
Saturday, March 20, 2010

The day was not a warm and friendly day. The wind was gusting from 1.1 MPH up to 28 MPH and switching very rapidly and was quite cool (actually cold is a better choice). Watching the wind flags (one mid-range, one at the targets, and the wind meter at the scoring bench) you could get them to go in three different directions at the same time. When the flag at the targets shot straight up it was time to ponder the next favorable opportunity to “Let one rip”. It was a dreary day and Mother Nature generated many challenges for the shooters to overcome and even with that, some very good scores were turned in. This was a day of learning to see how well you could read the wind! The extreme conditions drifted shots as much as 4” during the course of a match. “Frustrating” would be the perfect description for the event.

A good group of brave souls came out to battle the wind and cold and hopefully all had a good time and I am sure they had many challenges. The scores turned in were very good for the conditions they were shot in and our “Well done” is extended to all. We had a good showing of Jr shooters and as you can see by the results they did very well. We wish to “Thank” them for coming out and “Congrats” on your scores. Any shooters that meet them, please congratulate these kids as they are the future of our shooting sports.

I heard several shooters who were commenting on “This is not as easy as I thought”. Hopefully they will keep shooting and had a good time as this was meant for all to have fun with fellow shooters.

Our thanks to all who helped with the range safety, setup, scoring, sign in, assigning targets, running of the line, and tear down. Your help is greatly appreciated! Thank You!

We wish to also “thank” all the shooters for their participation in this event and hopefully will see some of them at the other events on the back ranges. As a wise old shooter once said “Favor Center”.

Thank You!
