ECCL Junior Rifle Team

Junior Rifle has long been a source of great pride for the ECCL. These youngsters have competed in a very demanding program requiring concentration, skill, and perseverance beyond what is normally expected from people of this age.

We need committed people to help with a new Junior Shooter program. We’ve lost our indoor Junior Rifle program for the time being (due to the lack of an indoor range) so let’s build on what we’ve had and add to it.

The idea is to give the kids a program that will cover several shooting disciplines (rifle, shotgun, Trap & Skeet, air rifles, bb-guns, etc.), engage in low-key competitions and have all year to do it.

We will be planning this ourselves, and it will take lots of us to pull it off but what a great opportunity to work with the kids and spread the word that shooting can be safe AND fun. We have lots of Junior members -- let’s get them interested! Contact a board member or Marie Casper if you can help.

Course of fire: 4 position

(Prone, Off Hand, Kneeling, Sitting)

Types of Rifle: 22 cal, smallbore

 

Participation with the team is open to any child over the age of 10 who has taken the NRA beginner rifle class.
