300-Yard Match Results
July 18, 2009

We were fortunate to have wonderful weather for the July Match. The turnout exceeded our expectations. We fired five full relays and had the range cleaned up by 1:30 in the afternoon. There were several new shooters in attendance along with many of the usual faces. The day started out with partly cloudy skies and very comfortable temperatures for the month of July. By the conclusion of the last relay, we were receiving the full effect of the mid summer sun as the mirage danced down range and posed a real challenge. I hope that everyone had an enjoyable time at the match and hope to see everyone at the August 22nd event.

Now for the real news: As some of you may know, we have been shooting this event on a regular yearly schedule since 2007. Since that time, there has never been a perfect score fired on the official NRA F-Class target until last Saturday. Bernie Bong finally shot a perfect score of 200-11X. We all congratulate Bernie for being the first to accomplish this very difficult task. All the research and testing Bernie has done this year has finally paid off. Good Shooting Bernie!

Also note in the match report that other shooters have posted some very fine scores in their categories. Congratulations to all and keep up the quest for that perfect score!

A special thanks to the pit crew for their efficient and timely service. Thanks also for the guys who helped score targets. We would be lost without you guys pitching in with the real range chores. Thanks again for your help!

I would also like to thank the competitors for their cooperation in keeping up with range commands and keeping the relay changes moving along.
Hope to see everyone again at the August 22nd match!
